GST Fraud Rising: Tax Evasion of Rs.2.5 Crore detected in Ahmedabad GST frauds are on the rise in Gujarat, with the State GST Department unearthing yet another large tax evasion case in Ahmedabad. This time, artificial flower dealers are accused of evading taxes of Rs.2.5 crore. According to sources, the GST department conducted a search operation on December 5 targeting 11 businessmen who trade in artificial flowers and ornamental things. During the search, it was discovered that these businessmen had evaded Rs.2.5 crore in taxes through unexplained sales and unreported stock.The entire liability for tax evasion and other irregularities amounted to Rs.3.50 crore. Pradhyumansinh Chavda, a scrap trader from Ahmedabad, has previously been detained for his involvement in a GST scam in Odhav. He was accused of creating fake bills for purchasing metal scraps and claiming input tax credits. The GST intelligence team identified Rs.50 crore in GST evasion during this probe. Chavda was arrested and placed on one-day remand following the fraud was revealed.
