GST Officer and his wife booked for having disproportionate assets: Cash of 42 Lakhs seized
According to claims of disproportionate assets, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a case against Assistant Commissioner, CGST, Gandhidham, and his wife on February 8, 2023. They were accused of amassing disproportionate assets of approximately Rs. 3,71,12,499 (almost 74% DA) in the form of large sums of cash, bank balances, and movable and immovable properties in their names and the names of family members between 2017 and 2021.
Today, searches are being carried out in a number of Gujarati and Rajasthani locations. So far, cash totaling approximately Rs. 42 lakh, foreign currencies, jewellery, pricey watches, and documents pertaining to real estate have been discovered.
The search is still ongoing.
