GST Teams Conduct Early Morning Raids at Renowned Hisar Doctor’s Home and Hospitals
On February 25, 2026, teams from the GST department conducted simultaneous raids in Hisar at the residence of renowned doctor Dr Umesh Kalra and two hospitals associated with him. Around eight teams that reportedly arrived from Rohtak began search operations at about 6:00 a.m. at Sarvesh Health City in Sector 14, Sarvodaya Hospital near Dabra Chowk, and his residence in Sector 13.
The operation was planned under the leadership of GST Commissioner IRS Rajendra Singh, as per sources. Teams were first gathered in Rohtak and then taken to Hisar early in the morning, around 5 a.m. They travelled in vehicles with commercial number plates to avoid attention. Three teams went to Sarvodaya Hospital, two to Sarvesh Hospital, and three to Dr Umesh Kalra’s house. Before reaching his residence, the teams stopped their vehicles about 50 metres away and then quietly started the raid.
Dr Umesh Kalra is a well-known doctor in Hisar. He earlier ran Sarvodaya Hospital at Dabda Chowk. In 2024, he started a state-of-the-art 350-bed hospital called Sarvesh Hospital (Sarvesh Health City) in Sector 14, which was inaugurated by Haryana’s then Health Minister Anil Vij.
During the raid, officials checked many documents, records, and financial transactions. Sources believe the investigation could be related to large money transactions, hospital sale deals, and possible GST irregularities.
Reports also say that a few months ago, he sold Sarvodaya Hospital for around Rs. 107 crore. After that, talks were also going on about buying a mall and a restaurant near Hansi on NH-9.
However, so far, there has been no officialconfirmation from authorities, and no arrests have been reported.
