GST Tribunal: Department Of Revenue Appoints Technical and Judicial Members
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training Secretariat of the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has recently issued a notification dated August 4, 2025 for the approval of the Department of Revenue.
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) is a high-level committee within the Government of India responsible for appointing senior officials to major positions in the central government and public sector undertakings. It plays a vital role in ensuring efficient and transparent selection processes for major government positions.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the below-mentioned proposals of the Department of Revenue:
- The Committee has approved an Appointment of 'IAS' for the post of Technical Member (State) in the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), Principal Bench, New Delhi, at a salary of Rs. 225,000 per month for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till the age of 67 years, whichever comes first.
- The Committee has approved an Appointment of 'IRS' for the post of Technical Member (Centre) GSTAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi, at a salary of Rs. 225,000 per month for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till the age of 67 years, whichever comes first.
- The Committee has approved an Appointment of a 'Retired Judge' from the High Court of Allahabad for the post of Judicial Member, GSTAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi, at a salary of Rs. 225,000 per month for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till the age of 67 years, whichever comes first.
- The Committee has also approved the proposals of other IAS/IRS or Retired Judge for the post of Technical Member (Centre) in the State Benches of GSTAT and the Judicial Member post in the State Benches of GSTAT at the salary of Rs. 225,000 per month for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till the age of 67 years, whichever comes first.
