GSTN launched UPI Option for GST Payment via Kotak Mahindra Bank in 10 States An important development in the field of Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments occurred on January 18, 2024, with the introduction of the opportunity to make GST payments using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This feature is currently available in 10 States and Union Territories, namely Assam, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. The initiative, which is available through all UPIs via Kotak Mahindra Bank, is a significant step towards digitising and streamlining the GST payment process. This progressive move is expected to assist businesses and individuals in the first few states, with plans to expand the service to the rest of India and more banks in the near future.
