The Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) has tweeted on its Twitter handle for the extension of the GSTR-1 Statement due date amid GST Portal Glitches faced by Taxpayers and Tax professionals.

The tweet was as follows:

Taxpayers are facing issues with GSTN since yesterday. It’s highly likely that GSTN should extend the GSTR-1 due date.

Consequences of Non-Filing GSTR-1 on due date

The failure to file GST returns on time may have several negative effects, including the inability to claim the Input Tax Credit (ITC), penalties, difficulties with reconciliation, limitations on the creation of e-way bills, blocking of the GSTR-1 filing facility, and even the suspension or cancellation of GST registration.
