Hanuman Jayanti 2023: Know Rajasthan’s Salasar Balaji Ji, Who fulfil wishes just by Offering Coconut

Salasar Balaji Dham has great importance for Hanuman devotees. This is a well-known shrine in Rajasthan’s Churu district. Devotees believe that by coming and worshipping in this temple, Bajrang Bali will fulfil all of their wishes and cure all diseases.

Let’s know about the history and importance of Salasar Bala Ji Temple:

In India, there are two well-known Balaji temples. The first is the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, and the second is the Salasar Balaji temple in Rajasthan.

Whose fame has spread far and broad. When visiting the Salasar Balaji temple, one will see a distinct form of Hanuman ji. Bajrang Bali is seated here, with a round face, beard, and moustache. The story behind it is fascinating. Every year on Chaitra and Ashwin Purnima, a big fair is organized here. During this time, the scenery here resembles Mahakumbh.

Reason for Hanuman Ji’s Beard and Moustache

It is said that in the Salasar Balaji temple, Hanumanji appeared to Mohandas Maharaj Ji for the first time in the form of beard and moustache. Then Mohandas ji told Balaji to appear in this form. This is the reason why the idol of Hanumanji is placed here in beard and moustache.

Becomes happy just by Offering Coconut

Salasar Balaji ji is said to be delighted simply by the offering of a coconut. But the devotees also offer the flag to him along with the coconut. Because of this belief, coconut has become a symbol of reverence here.

Every year, approximately 25 lakh coconuts are offered in this temple. Special precautions have also been taken to guarantee that these coconuts are never used again.

They are buried in the yard by digging a pit. Devotees have been tying coconuts in red cloth to fulfil their wishes on the Khejdi tree planted in the temple’s premises for nearly 200 years. Every day, 5 to 7 thousand coconuts are offered here. Their number increases four-five times during the days of the fair.

History of Shri Salasar Balaji Dham Temple

When the idol of Hanumanji was installed in Salasar Balaji temple. Lord Hanuman had miraculously appeared in the Salasar Balaji temple. The story behind it is also very interesting. The incident dates back to 1754 when a Jat farmer was plowing his field in Asota village in Nagpur district. Then his plow collided with some sharp rocky object.

When he dug, he saw that there was a stone here. When he cleaned the stone with his thumb, he saw that the image of Lord Balaji was made on the stone. At the same time Jat’s wife brought food, she also cleaned the idol with her saree and both the couple bowed down to the stone. Then the farmer offered the first bhog of bajra churma to Balaji. This is the reason why bajra churma is offered in the Salasar Balaji Mandir from the beginning till now.

The news of the appearance of the idol reached the Thakur of the village along with the entire village. One night in a dream the Thakur of Asota was asked by Balaji to take the idol to Salasar. On the other hand, in a dream, Hanuman devotee told Maharaj Mohandas of Salasar that no one should stop the bullock cart by which the idol goes to Salasar. Where the bullock cart stops on its own, his statue should be installed there. Following these orders received in the dream, the idol of Lord Salasar Balaji was placed at its present place.
