The Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has launched School Education Haryana’s Health and Treatment’ (SEHAT) scheme on the Occasion of Teachers’ Day, on Monday.

“Under this Scheme health check-ups of 25 lakh school children will be carried out twice a year”, an Official stated.

The launch took place in Panchkula at a state-level event hosted by the School Education Department. 93 teachers received awards from the governor for their great performance, in the same event.

The “School Education Haryana’s Health and Treatment” (SEHAT) scheme has been launched under “Ayushman Bharat” and will be implemented in the upcoming academic year 2023-24, according to the speaker, who described educated and healthy children as the future of the nation.

The state’s e-Upchar portal would be used to store the information gathered during the student medical exams, and it will be accessible from anywhere, he said.

In honour of the late former president Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birthday is commemorated as Teachers’ Day, Dattatreya remarked, “the eminent diplomat, scholar, and an ideal teacher did a fantastic work for the all-around development of children.”

The governor also recalled Ramaiah Garu, his physics instructor, and late Sheshacharya, his Telugu teacher, saying that their advice helped him on both his personal and political journeys.

Kanwar Pal, the state government’s minister of education, said that numerous measures had been made to raise educational standards.
