High Court of Gujarat Recruitment 2023: The High Court of Gujarat has released an advertisement inviting online applications from eligible practicing advocates for approximately 57 vacancies in the cadre of District Judge. As per the High Court of Gujarat Recruitment 2023 official notification, the vacancies will be filled by competitive examination, in accordance with the guidelines of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the Gujarat State Judicial Service Rules, 2005. As per the High Court of Gujarat Recruitment 2023 official notification, the pay scale for the position is in the range of Rs.1,44,840/- to Rs.1,94,660/- per month, plus allowances as admissible under the Rules. The application submission process begins on April 20, 2023, and the last date for submission of online applications is May 5, 2023. The examination will be held in June and July 2023, and the Viva-Voce Test will be held in September 2023.
Candidates must possess a law degree from a university recognized by law in India and must have practiced as an advocate in courts of civil and/or criminal jurisdiction for a continuous period of at least seven years immediately preceding the last date for submission of online applications. Candidates must also have basic knowledge of computer applications/operations as set out by the Government of Gujarat in General Administration Department Resolution No. PRCH-102005-1532-K, dated 30/09/2006, and No. CRR-10-2007-120320-G.5, dated 13/08/2008.
As per the High Court of Gujarat Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for candidates is 35-48 years in the case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, Differently Abled Candidates with Locomotor Disabilities, and Ex-Servicemen and 45 years in the case of General Candidates as on the last date fixed for submission of the online application. A relaxation of one year in the upper age limit has been granted in the recruitment process as per the resolution issued by the General Administrative Department (Government of Gujarat) dated 29/09/2022. Candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 2000/- (plus bank charges) for the application process, and the payment can be made through any of the online payment modes mentioned in the advertisement.

For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, declared as such by the Government of Gujarat, as well as Differently Abled Candidates with Locomotor Disability and Ex-Servicemen: A candidate must have attained the age of 35 years and must not have attained the age of 48 years as on the last date fixed for submission of the Online Application.
For General Candidates: A candidate must have attained the age of 35 years and must not have attained the age of 45 years as of the last date fixed for submission of the Online Application.
It is important to note that the age limits are calculated based on the last date fixed for submission of the Online Application.
As per the High Court of Gujarat Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Gujarat State Judicial Service selection process consists of a Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) followed by a Main Written Examination and Viva-voce Test.
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers, Paper I: Law and Paper II: English, General Knowledge & Awareness, each worth 100 marks and 2 hours long. The Preliminary Examination will be conducted in English and assessed by a computer using an OMR Sheet.
Candidates who pass the Preliminary Examination and meet other eligibility requirements will be called for the Main Written Examination. Candidates who have not passed the Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination with the subject of Gujarati will be required to pass the Test in the Gujarati Language.
To be eligible for the Main Written Examination, candidates must secure a minimum of 50% or more marks in each paper of the Preliminary Examination and must have also passed their Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations with the required subjects.
