How to View Your Income Tax Refund Status Using PAN Card?
Many taxpayers are still waiting for their income tax refunds, as this year, the refund processing is taking some extra time due to several reasons. If you are someone who has not received your income tax refund, then you can check its status online.
There are two ways you can view your income tax refund status using the PAN Card.
Check Income Tax Refund Status on E-Filing Website
Here is how you can view the status through the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal:- Step 1: Go to the official e-filing website.
- Step 2: Log in using your PAN details and password.
- Step 3: From the Home Page, navigate to the taskbar, click on e-file, then click on Income Tax Return, and click on View Filed Returns.
- Step 4: You will be able to see a complete timeline of your filed income tax returns, arranged by each assessment year. It will also show the refund status for every year.
View Income Tax Refund Status Via the TIN Website
Taxpayers can also use the TIN (Tax Information Network) portal to check their income tax refund status.- Step 1: Go to the TIN portal.
- Step 2: Submit your PAN and the relevant assessment year, and click on proceed.
- Step 3: You will see your refund status on the screen.
How Many Days Does it Take to Receive an Income Tax Refund?
In some cases, the taxpayers receive their income tax refund within a few hours, while some receive it in a month. This year, the income tax department is doing extra checks for the large refunds, slowing down the refund processing. There can be some other reasons affecting the credit of your income tax refund. These are as follows:- Your name on the PAN card does not match the name in your bank account.
- Your PAN is not linked to your Aadhaar card.
- Your bank is not pre-validated.
