Keeping that in mind the board has published the class 10th syllabus for the new academic session i.e. 2023-24 on the official website. Students can download the syllabus by visiting the ICSE portal. The syllabus for ICSE and ISC courses is published by the CISCE Board. It is a non-governmental educational body in India that administers the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC). When you carefully examine the ICSE Syllabus, you will observe that it covers a wide range of subjects and topics, making it difficult for many students. However, the objective is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of all of these subjects while also developing exceptional management skills.

ICSE Class 10: Categories/Groups of Subjects

ICSE board curriculum covers a broad range of subjects divided into groups I (compulsory), II, and III. Group I: Compulsory Subjects
  • English.
  • A Second Language (Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages).
  • History, Civics, and Geography.
Group II: Any Two/Three of The Following Subjects

There are a total of 7 subjects for which the students have to appear in the ICSE Class 10th board examination. Three subjects from Group I are compulsory, three optional subjects from Group II, and one optional subject from Group III. Groups I and II will use an 80 + 20 marking system (External + Internal), while Group III will use a 50 + 50 marking scheme (External + Internal).
