ICSI Flags Issues in MCA-21 V3 Portal, Submits Suggestions to MCA
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has written to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) highlighting difficulties being faced by stakeholders while using the MCA-21 V3 portal.
ICSI appreciated the government's effort to improve digital governance and make compliance easier through the new MCA V3 system. However, it noted that users are currently facing several practical problems while using the portal.
The institute said these issues have been reported by its members and other stakeholders who regularly interact with the system for filing and compliance work. These challenges are affecting smooth functioning and timely submissions.
ICSI has therefore requested the MCA to look into these concerns and has also submitted a list of key issues along with suggestions to improve the portal’s performance and user experience.
The following is the list:
1. Problems while uploading attachments
Users face issues uploading files due to size limit issues. ICSI suggests increasing file size limits for smoother uploading.
2. Login issues (MCA 21 V3)
Frequent login problems with the "Switch User" feature. Users cannot update their profile status. Errors such as "Something went wrong" appear while creating user IDs. ICSI recommends enhancing the system to fix login and user-related problems.
3. Lack of draft saving & retrieval
Users often lose saved drafts or data due to session timeouts. ICSI suggests adding a strong system with auto-save and easy draft recovery.
4. Limited access to public documents
The entire company's filing data is not available under "View Public Documents". ICSI recommends providing a paid option so companies can check pending filing years easily.
5. Mandatory Login
To access basic data, users are required to log in, which creates unnecessary inconvenience. ICSI suggests that access to basic company master data may be made available without a mandatory login.
