IEC Update Deadline Ends Today: Don't Miss Final Date to Avoid Penalties
IEC or Importer Exporter Code, is a 10-digit identification number issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, which comes under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, GOI. This verification number is required for the purpose of importing and exporting goods and services from India. As per the rules mandated by DGFT, it is compulsory to update or confirm IEC between 1st April and 30th June of every financial year. The deadline for financial year 2025-26 is 30th June 2025 (today). Failing to comply with the same can result in:- Automatic deactivation of IEC by the DGFT system.
- Late fine upto Rs. 500 if updated after 30 June, 2025.
- Shipments involving a deactivated IEC will not be processed by customs and other authorities.
