IGNOU Registration 2024: IGNOU Extends Admission Deadline for January 2024 Academic Year

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension of the deadline for fresh admissions for the January 2024 academic year. The university, catering to online distance learning and online mode, has granted an additional 10 days inviting applications for registration to apply for various programmes. Originally slated to close earlier, the deadline for applications has now been pushed to March 20, 2024. This extension provides students with more time to register for the courses offered in the January 2024 session.

Moreover, eligible students are encouraged to apply for government scholarships through the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in subsequent to the confirmation of their admission.

How to Apply for IGNOU Registration 2024:

Eligible candidates can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in) after confirming their admission. For detailed instructions on filling out the online application, instructional videos in both Hindi and English are available.

Step 1: Download the Common Prospectus and familiarize yourself with the university rules.

Step 2: Click on “NEW REGISTRATION” in the applicant login area and complete the form with your details.

Step 3: Provide a valid email address and mobile number for registration.

Step 4: Select a username and password meeting the specified character requirements.

Step 5: After filling mandatory fields, click “SUBMIT”. Your username will be sent via email and SMS.

Step 6: For existing users, click “LOGIN” on the official website.

Step 7: Ensure you have scanned copies of required documents within specified file size limits.

Step 8: Pay the application fee using credit card, debit card, or net banking.

Step 9: Preview the form, upload documents, and save/print it for future reference.

Note: Ensure accurate information is provided during form filling.

Registration Fee and Refund Policy: A non-refundable registration fee will be charged along with the program fee for the first semester/year at the time of admission.

*Refund requests for cancellation of application/admission will be processed as per the university policy outlined below:
Before confirmation of admission: Full program fee paid shall be refunded.
Within 15 days of confirmation: Program fee paid shall be refunded after deduction of Rs. 500.
Within 16-90 days of confirmation: Program fee paid shall be refunded after deduction of Rs. 1000.
After 90 days of confirmation: No refund shall be allowed.
