IIPS Recruitment 2023: The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) invites applications for the Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Upper Division Clerk posts. There is a total of 03 vacancies for the above-mentioned posts. There is 01 vacancy available for each post. The Associate Professor and Assistant Professor vacancy is available in the Department of Bio-statistics & Epidemiology of IIPS. The upper age limit for Upper Division Clerk is 27 years. As per the IIPS Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Associate Professor and Assistant Professor positions belong to Group A service while the Upper Division Clerk Post belongs to Group C.
The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) Mumbai is a leading institution in research and postgraduate teaching in population studies and allied fields. The IIPS is a Deemed to be University that conducts large-scale scientific surveys like National Family Health Surveys (NFHS), Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS), and others. According to the IIPS recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidate will receive a salary from pay level 4 to pay level 13 A. The post of Assistant and Associate Professor is open only for candidates from unreserved categories. The Upper Divison Clerk position is open for OBC category aspirants.

According to the IIPS recruitment 2023 official notification, the essential and desirable qualifications for different posts have been listed below:
Associate Professor
i) A good Academic record, with a Ph.D. degree in Demography/ Population Studies / Bio-statistics/ Epidemiology or Statistics/ Mathematics / Economics with a specialization in Demography/ Population Studies.
ii) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Demography/Population Studies/ Bio-statistics/ Epidemiology or Statistics / Mathematics / Economics with a specialization in Demography / Population Studies.
Assistant Professor
i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Demography /Statistics / Economics / Bio-statistics with a specialization in Demography / Population Studies.
ii) Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET
OR
Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Upper Division Clerk
Essential Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or Equivalent
Desirable: Candidates proficient in English/Hindi Short Hand will be preferred.
NOTE: A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 50%-55% of the marks at the Masters’s level to SC/ST/PH candidates and to Ph.D. degree holders who have passed master’s degrees before 19-09-1991.

There is no maximum age limit for Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. The role of Associate Professor requires experience. Experience for Associate Professor: A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor in a University, College, or Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a total research score of Seventy-five (75).

According to the official notification for the IIPS recruitment 2023, candidates will be called for an interview based on their eligibility/experience. Candidates having stellar records will be eligible for interviews. If the Institute receives a significant number of applications for a certain position, the Institute reserves the right to limit the number of candidates invited for interviews to a reasonable number as determined by duly formed Screening Committee/s and approved by the Competent Authority. The reference date to determine eligibility, experience, and age will be the date on which the candidate sends his/her application.
