Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has received multiple orders from the Income Tax Department for financial years 2014-15 to 2020-21 imposing a total penalty of Rs 57.74 crore.

The company revealed the development in a filing to the stock exchanges on October 2, 2026. The penalties relate to assessment years 2015-16 to 2021-22 and are linked to ongoing tax litigation which Emcure had earlier disclosed.

The orders were passed by the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle 2(1), Pune, the company said. The lawsuit was filed on December 27, 2023.

Emcure said that it is examining its legal options and may file an appeal before the Appellate Authority against the orders.

The company has disclosed the ongoing litigation in its Integrated Governance Reports, the latest disclosure relating to the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
