Income Tax Dept Raid on 42 Location of Billionaire Businessman Lasted for 5 Days
On Wednesday, a team from the Income Tax Department raided the offices of Hariprakash Mangla, a businessman, builder, and educational institution owner. Several teams of the Income Tax Department raided Mangla, his relatives, and associates at the same time. A total of 42 places in Gurugram, Hisar, and Delhi are being probed at the same time as Sonipat.
In the past, the Income Tax Department has pursued Hariprakash Mangala and his organisations. The record is being searched on a massive scale this time, though. Income Tax Department teams from Panchkula, Delhi, Gurugram, and Panipat are working to resolve the issue. Around 300 cops are among them. Aside from that, Gurugram Police’s assistance is being sought.
This action is expected to last for two to three days, according to reports. Documents linked to the Mangala Group’s purchases and sales of properties and assets during the previous three years have been confiscated by the investigation teams. The market value of these properties as well as the price recorded in the paperwork are being gathered.
The Income Tax Department had received information that irregularities were being committed in the firm of Hariprakash Mangla, a Sonepat-based entrepreneur who works with his relatives and partners. Hundreds of Income Tax Department teams searched establishments in Sector-14 of Sector-14, Kothi No. 119 of Hariprakash Mangla, owner of Gateway Educational Institute and city’s big businessman, and other cities including Delhi at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
Around 60-70 officers and staff arrived at Mangla’s establishments and began an inquiry. The team arrived at Mangala’s kothi in five Innova vehicles and spent the day investigating. The raids on Mangla were still being discussed throughout the city throughout the day. According to sources with the Internal Revenue Service, simultaneous action has been taken in 42 sites. There was a commotion among traders and businessmen after that. Around 12 locations in Sonipat are being searched for records.
The Income Tax Department team spent the day going over records at Hariprakash Mangala’s house, his son’s house, his CA‘s house, Gateway Educational Institute, Cold Store, University, and other businesses on Patel Nagar’s street number six. The team looked into the tehsil’s premises. He also enquired at the kiosk of the person who wrote the deed for Mangla’s lands registry.
According to reports, the Income Tax Department’s teams have acquired the records of Mangala Group’s transactions and investments during the last three years. Many irregularities are expected to be discovered by the Income Tax Department. According to the Income Tax Department, property has been purchased not only in Haryana but also in other states. There was also a charge of tax evasion via the educational institution. The team has compiled information on the taxes submitted over the last three years, as well as the worth of their existing properties. Information about their loans and investments is also being gathered.
Visited approximately 12 locations in Sonipat to check records. According to Income Tax Department sources, the process of raiding and inspecting records at Mangala and his associates’ 12 locations has been completed in Sonipat. Income Tax Department personnel have camped out at Hariprakash’s house, Gateway Institute, Utsav Garden, and other acquaintances’ homes.
The Income Tax Department’s investigation against the city’s big businessman Hariprakash Mangala, his relatives, and associates, which had been ongoing since Wednesday, ended on Sunday. The Income Tax Department team recovered cash, jewellery, and necessary documentation from all Mangala locations and deposited them in the Panipat office.
According to sources, the counting will be done by Monday evening. Only then will the seized cash, jewellery, and other items be revealed. Although it has been claimed that approximately 7-8 crore rupees have been retrieved from various locations, the value of the seized jewels is very significant.
