Income Tax Dept raids against various leaders close to Akhilesh Yadav in tax fraud case The Income Tax (IT) Department inspected the homes of many close aides to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday (December 18) in suspected tax evasion cases. Searches are being done at the homes of Akhilesh Yadav's secretary and national spokesperson Rajeev Rai, RCL group promoter Manoj Yadav, and Jainendra Yadav, a house worker turned OSD. The IT team is looking for Rajeev Rai's house in Sahadatpura, Mau district, who is close to Akhilesh Yadav. In the early hours of the morning, a 12-member Income Tax team from Varanasi launched a search operation at Rai's home. Rajeev Rai's website describes him as an educationalist, businessman, and philanthropist, as well as the chairman of the AVK Group of Colleges, which operates a chain of institutions in Bengaluru. He considers himself to be one of the most essential players in the formation of the first Samajwadi Party administration with an absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh in 2012. Rai has a number of properties in Lucknow, Mainpuri, and Agra. Rai stated he has no black money or a criminal record, and that the Income Tax search was nothing more than a political vendetta. Members of the Samajwadi Party hacked and attempted to physically impede Income Tax officials from carrying out their duties, and a huge group of them gathered outside Rai's residence and began sloganeering. In addition to Rai, the Income Tax team has visited RCL Group promoter Manoj Yadav in Mainpuri, who is also alleged to be connected to Akhilesh Yadav. Sleuths are searching his home in Agra. Another team is searching for Jainendra Yadav, aka Neetu Yadav, at his home in Lucknow's Vishal Khand neighbourhood. Neetu Yadav was Akhilesh Yadav's Officer on Special Duty (OSD) when he was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He used to be an electrician at Mulayam Singh Yadav's mansion, where he lived in the servant quarter. When Akhilesh became Chief Minister, he selected Neetu Yadav as his Deputy Chief Minister.
