Income Tax Dept Releases Foreign Assets Information User Guide 2026, Explains How to Access Overseas Financial Data:

The IT Dept has released the Foreign Assets Information User Guide 2026 to help taxpayers securely access, understand, download, and verify their overseas financial information.
New Foreign Assets Information User Guide 2026

The Directorate of Income Tax (Systems), Income Tax Department, has issued a publication titled "Foreign Assets Information User Guide Version 1.0 (July 2026). " The guide has been prepared in line with the Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme (FAST-DS 2026).
The aim of this guide is to increase taxpayers' knowledge, access, and usage of Foreign Assets Information available on the compliance portals of the Income Tax Department.
The publication includes a complete guide on how taxpayers can view and securely download their foreign financial information received from international tax jurisdictions, analyse and understand the information mentioned in the report, and submit feedback in case of any variation or mismatch.
Willing taxpayers can access the “Foreign Assets Information” on the e-filing portal (www.incometax.gov.in) through the “Reports” tab. Using the portal, taxpayers can download the information in PDF form and can submit relevant feedback on the information available in PDF.
According to the publication, "The Government of India receives financial account information of Indian taxpayers from foreign countries under international information exchange framework."
