Income Tax Portal glitch Frustrate Taxpayers
ITR Filing season is going on and the last date to file income tax returns is 31st July 2024.
Taxpayers started filing their tax returns for the financial year 2023-24, but they are facing issues and problems while filing an ITR. The income tax portal is not working properly as it should be.
The Income Tax e-filing portal is experiencing technical problems, causing users to be unable to complete tax filing and updates. The issue has caused frustration among taxpayers and professionals, who are concerned about reaching filing deadlines. The Income Tax Department has acknowledged its shortcomings and is attempting to rectify them, but the timeline for resolution is uncertain.
Meanwhile, the Aadhaar portal is also experiencing issues, with users claiming delays in updates and requests being rejected.
Many users posted on Twitter to release their frustration. The tweets are as follows:
One Chartered Accountant wrote, “Portal not working during working hours causes unnecessary delays and piles up the work for last dates #IncomeTax”
Another Chartered Accountant posted, “@IncomeTaxIndia Please fix this issue so that we can complete the filings within the due date.
One User posted, “Currently Portal is behaving like a restaurant which is not able to serve the food itself but asking for Feedback regarding taste and quality!!🙌 @IncomeTaxIndia Please improve Portal’s substandard performance. Lakhs of Manhours are being wasted countrywide in this Peak season of ITR filing. #DigitalIndia”
