Income Tax Website upgraded again? Know the New Features
The Income Tax Department has redesigned its National website with a user-friendly layout, value-added features, and new modules in order to improve taxpayer experience and stay up with modern technology. Shri. Nitin Gupta, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT)), unveiled the newly updated website at the 'Chintan Shivir' event hosted by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems) in Udaipur.
This website is a comprehensive source of tax and related information. It gives cross-referenced and hyperlinked access to Direct Tax legislation, as well as various additional Allied Acts, Rules, Income Tax Circulars, and Notifications. The website also has a 'Taxpayer Services Module' with numerous tax tools to help taxpayers file their income tax forms.
The website has been artistically renovated and now has a mobile-responsive layout. The website now has a content 'Mega Menu' with new features and functionality. All of these new elements are described to website users through a guided virtual tour and new button indications.
The new features enable users to compare various Acts, Sections, Rules, and Tax Treaties. To facilitate navigation, all relevant information on the site has been marked with Income Tax sections. Furthermore, dynamic due date warnings give reverse countdowns, tooltips, and links to pertinent portals to assist taxpayers in quickly complying.
The redesigned website is another step towards improving taxpayer services, and it will continue to educate people and make tax compliance easier.
