ISRO Recruitment 2023: The Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (SDSC SHAR), is a leading center of the Indian Space Research Organization and the spaceport of India. The SDSC SHAR has announced a recruitment 2023 drive for the position of Medical Officer (General Surgery). As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the position requires the candidate to have an M.B.B.S degree with MS/DNB in General Surgery, recognized and registered with the Medical Council of India/State/National Medical Commission. The role requires the candidate to have working experience in General Surgery Department in a reputed hospital.
As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidate will be posted at the SDSC SHAR campus in Sriharikota and will be responsible for providing medical care to employees, their families, and others as required. The position falls under Level 11 in the Pay Matrix as per CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016, and offers Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) @ 20% of Basic pay, along with other allowances such as DA, HRA, and Transport Allowance. The candidate will be governed by the National Pension System and will receive free transport, limited housing facilities, library facilities, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, and subsidized canteen facilities, among others. The deadline to apply for the position is March 7, 2023, and the application fee is INR 250, which is non-refundable.

The post is unreserved and the candidate should be an Indian citizen registered with the Medical Council of India/State/National Medical Commission. The candidate should possess an M.B.B.S degree along with MS/DNB in General Surgery. Desirable qualifications include working experience in the General Surgery Department in a reputed hospital. There is no upper age limit for this post.
As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary for the selected candidate will be in Level 11 of the Pay Matrix. In addition to the basic pay, the candidate will also be eligible for Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) at 20% of the basic pay.
Other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance will be payable as per the norms of the Central Government.
Note: The selected candidate will be governed by the National Pension System. ISRO provides free transport (in lieu of transport allowance), limited housing facility (in lieu of HRA), Library facility, House Building Advance, Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, and subsidized canteen facilities subject to certain terms and conditions. ISRO also provides attractive medical benefits to its employees and eligible dependents.

As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the job involves an interview. Candidates need to apply online and only those who meet the minimum qualifications and other parameters will be screened in for the interview.
The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview. The candidates who secure a minimum of 60% marks in the interview will be considered for empanelment in the order of merit. Candidates need to produce the originals of all certificates and testimonials in support of the details entered in the online application at the time of the interview. Candidates with foreign degrees need to ensure that their degrees are valid and duly ratified by the National Medical Commission of India.
As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the application fee for this recruitment is Rs.250/- per application, which is non-refundable. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee.
The fee can be paid online through Debit Card or Internet Banking only. In case a candidate is unable to make the payment within the due date and time (i.e., 17.00 hrs of 07.03.2023), he/she can pay the fee up to the next day of closure of the online application registration (i.e., 1700 Hrs on 08.03.2023) by clicking on the ‘Make Payment’ option available in the online recruitment portal.
No other mode of payment will be acceptable. Please note that SDSC SHAR will not be responsible for pending transactions or transaction failures or any such issues. Candidates are advised to register their applications and make the payments well in advance without waiting for the last date.
