IT Department Raids Ashokraj Angadia Courier Service for Tax Fraud The Income Tax Department raided Ashokraj Angadia Courier Service, a traditional banking system used to transfer valuables, in the cotton city of Akola On Wednesday. The IT crackdown comes after a four-day raid and searches on the Bhandari brothers in Nanded for unaccounted assets totalling about 170 crores, including nearly 14 crores in cash and 8 kg of gold. The Tax Department of Nagpur is conducting tax raids and searches at Ashokraj Angadia Courier Service in Kothadi Bazar, Akola, for suspected hawala transactions. The taxmen suspect that the Angadia transferred large sums of money in hawala transactions involving the Bhandari brothers' businesses, which include unlisted chit funds, microfinance, leasing, gold loans, and real estate. The hawala services used by numerous enterprises, traders, and coaching programs were investigated for unaccounted income and tax fraud.
