IT Dept Flags High-Risk PAN & Non-PAN Cases on Insight Portal
The Income Tax Department has recently shared High-Risk CRIU/VRU PAN Case and Non-PAN Cases, Dissemination of Cases on the 'Verification' module of Insight portal.
These are high-risk cases related to Assessment Years 2020-21 to 2024-25. They have been identified using special systems called CRIU (Compliance Risk Identification Unit) and VRU (Verification Risk Unit), which are part of the department’s Risk Management Strategy.
These cases are divided into two categories:
1. High-Risk PAN Cases
2. High-Risk Non-PAN Cases
How to view case details on the Insight Portal
The following are the steps to view case details: Step 1: Log in to the official website of the Insight Portal (i.e., www.insight.gov.in). Step 2: Click on "verification". Step 3: Then, click on the verification stage. Step 4: Click on the count of cases under the 'Under Verification' column. Step 5: Lastly, select 'View Details' to view the case detail screen. Apart from this, it includes all relevant information, such as steps to initiate proceedings, steps to view cases on the ITBA portal, and steps to view case details under the taxpayer's profile.
