This fake news is being spread through a clipping of Sandesh's news on social media The department urged taxpayers to rely on updates from the official Income Tax India website and social media channels for accurate information. In addition, the department warned taxpayers about a scam. This scam is targeting those waiting for tax refunds. Scammers are pretending to offer tax refunds to steal money from people's bank accounts. They are sending fraudulent SMS and emails.

The 1 crore milestone was achieved on June 23, 2024. The 2 crore milestone was on July 7, 2024, and the 3 crore milestone on July 16, 2024. The 4 crore milestone was achieved on July 24 last year.
