JK Paper Limited has disclosed that the Assistant Commissioner of CGST, Tapi, Gujarat, has raised a total GST demand of Rs 2,53,91,496 against the company.
The demand relates to the period from FY 2020-21 to FY 2022-23 and includes Rs. 1,26,95,748 in tax and another Rs. 1,26,95,748 as penalty, along with applicable interest. The company has been accused of claiming excess Input Tax Credit (ITC).
JK Paper has said that it considers the demand unjustified and legally untenable and does not agree with the allegations.
The company said it plans to file an appeal before the Commissioner (Appeals) against the orders passed by the GST authority.
The orders were passed on September 21, 2026, at around 6:43 PM, according to the company's regulatory filing with the stock exchanges.
