Karnataka High Court Recruitment 2022: The High Court of Karnataka has sought Applications from the Candidates duly satisfying the Eligibility in reference to the Post of District Judge (DJ). There are 16 (14 Backlog Plus 02 Fresh) for the Post District Judges.
Such Persons with High Integrity and Impeccable Background, who deem to have fulfilled the Eligibility Criteria for District Judge Post, and intend to apply for District Judge Post may proceed with the Online Registration Application (ORA) Process.
The Last Date in respect of the Candidate applying Online together with the Essential Documents and Testimonials, etc., is slated to close on 19th October 2022 (19.10.2022).
Selection Methodology: Selection to the Post District Judge shall consist of 03 Stages; viz., 1) Preliminary Examination (Prelim Exam); 2) Main Written Examination (MWE) and 3) Viva-voce respectively.
Selection Process: 1) The Preliminary Test with 1½ Hours’ Exam Duration for 100 Marks for 100 Objective-Type Multiple Choice Questions based on Part A: Civil Law; Part B: Criminal Law and Part C: General Knowledge (Test of reasoning and Mental Aptitude);
2) Main Written Examination with 03 Hours’ Exam Duration for each Paper consists of 02 Papers; Part A: Civil Law and Part B: Criminal Law. Each Paper carries Maximum 150 Marks. It is binding on the Candidates to answer One of the Papers in English;
3) Viva-voce for Maximum 50 Marks will be conducted for the Candidates who get Shortlisted in the Main Examination.
Note: The Public Prosecutor/Assistant Public Prosecutor/Government Counsel in Full-Time Employment of the State having Minimum 07 Years of Continuous Practice immediately preceding the End Date fixed for receipt of Online Applications are also Eligible for Appointment in the Post of District Judge.

Essential Qualification(s): The Applicant must have the following Essential Qualifications.
A) Legum Baccalaureus/Bachelor of Legal Laws Degree granted by any University established by Law in India;
ii) Practicing as an Advocate in the State High Court or in any Subordinate Court on the Last Date fixed for receipt of Applications and must have so practiced for a period at least 07 (Seven) Years as on Such Date, i.e., Closing Date for the Application.
B) General and Preferred Skills are explained in detail are available for the Perusal of the Candidates in the Appended KHC Advertisement.
Mandatory Testimonial for Submission:
i) Certificate of Enrolment as Advocate/Pleader, issued by the Bar Council.
ii) List of Cases conducted independently during the Past 03 Years with particulars of such cases.
iii) Certificate issued by the Presiding Officer of the Court in which the Candidate is actually practicing or Certificate issued by the Registrar (Judicial)/Additional Registrar General, if he/she is practicing in the High Court, indicating that He/She is a Practicing Advocate. The Certificate should also indicate that He/She has been practicing as an Advocate for Minimum 07 Years as on the Last Date fixed for receipt of Online Applications.
iv) Two Character Certificates of Good Character (one issued by the Principal of the Institution/College in which the Candidate has last studied with study details and another from any respectable person not being a relative who is well acquainted with the Candidate).
v) Income Tax return, if any, to show the Annual Income from the Profession during the Preceding 03 Years.
Note: The Public Prosecutor/Assistant Public Prosecutor–cum-Assistant Government Pleader must submit individual Application Online not later than the Date and Time fixed for receipt of Online Applications. If He/She gets selected, the Candidate should also obtain “No Objection Certificate” from the Competent Authority to accept his/her Appointment, soon after His/Her Selection is notified and produce the same to the Authority Competent to appoint him/her to the Post to which he/she is selected, before issuance of Order of Appointment
