Liquor Scam: CBI summons Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Excise Policy Scam Case The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy scam case on April 16, officials told. They claimed Kejriwal has been invited to appear at the agency headquarters at 11 a.m. to answer questions from the investigation team. The central investigation agency has already detained former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the issue. The Delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22, which grants licences to liquor traders, is said to have benefited particular dealers who reportedly paid bribes for it, a claim strenuously denied by the AAP. The policy was later abandoned. "It was also alleged that irregularities were committed, such as changes in Excise Policy, extending undue favours to licensees, waiving/reducing licence fees, extending L-1 licences without approval, and so on." "It was also alleged that illegal gains from these acts were diverted to concerned public servants by private parties by making false entries in their books of accounts," a CBI spokesperson stated following the filing of the FIR on August 17, 2022.
