Massive GST Raid in Meerut: Six Locations Linked to Haji Saeed Under Investigation
On November 4, 2025 (Tuesday), The State GST team raided six locations of Haji Saeed in Meerut. The case is being considered a case of tax evasion using bogus bills.
The State GST department, for the first time, ran an operation like those under the Income Tax Act with six teams. This included 20 officers, 30 departmental employees and police from various police stations. The team arrived at Haji Saeed's Business establishment between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.
Further, the team investigated Haji Saeed's warehouse near the burnt khothi chhatri wale pir in the old city. Haji Saeed also made a new Kothi in Patel Nagar. The team also visited his home.
The State GST Department's officials stated that a pavilion at ITO is also in his family's name. Documents related to an iron sheet manufacturing factory and land on the Bijli Bamba bypass were also examined.
Hariram Chaurasia, GST Commissioner, Grade One, said, "The investigation is ongoing at six other locations, including Jali Kothi. The media will be informed of the action taken after the investigation is complete."
