Air India Refund Rules

If you made your booking directly on the Air India website or mobile app:

To check your refund status, visit the customer support portal and click on ‘Status Check on Pending Refund’.

If you booked using a travel agent or other travel website:

You have to approach that travel agent or travel website to get the status of your refund.

If you made your booking at an Air India office:

Go to the same office where you have reserved your ticket to verify your refund status.

Duration of Air India refunds:

• Refund takes 7 to 10 working days.
• In case there is some problem such as incorrect payment information or dormant bank account, it would take more time.
• If you don’t receive your refund after 15 to 20 working days, you can complain on Air India’s customer support page using your case ID.

General Refund Timelines

• In certain instances, refunds can take up to 30 to 90 working days based on the mode of payment and how the airline handles the request.
• Refunds through credit cards typically take 7 to 14 working days.
• Bank refunds directly also take approximately 7 to 14 working days once all bank information is properly provided.
