MCA revise tenure of Justice (Retd.) Shri A.I.S. Cheema as Judicial Member NCLAT Justice Retd AIS Cheema's tenure as Judicial Member of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has been updated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). In accordance with Section 5 of the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021, the Central Government revises Justice (Retd.) Shri A.I.S. Cheema's tenure as a Judicial Member of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) to four years or until he reaches the age of 67, whichever comes first. Furthermore, in accordance with an order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 16.09.2021 in WP (C) 1027/2021, the period from 11.09.2021 to 20.09.2021 will be included as part of Justice (Retired) Shri. A.I.S. Cheema, Judicial Member's continuous service with all service benefits as a special case, and he will be allowed to work as the officiating Chairperson upto 20.09.2021 to enable him The MCA stated that this would not be considered a precedent.
