Scientist ‘B’

Eligibility

a. Scientists or Technologists working in the Central Government or State Governments or Universities or recognized research Institutions or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous Organisations in India or abroad:

(i) holding analogous post on a regular basis; or

(ii) Scientists or Technologists or Junior Analysts with two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the pay band -2, Rs. 9300 – 34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4800 (Level 8 as per Vllth CPC) or equivalent; or

(iii) Scientists or Technologists or Junior Analysts with three years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the pay band -2, Rs. 9300 – 34800 with grade pay of Rs. 4600 (Level 7 as per VII th CPC) or equivalent; and

b. Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

Essential: Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in r Engineering or Technology or Medicine f om a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable: i. Doctorate Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

ii. Specialized experience in Research and Development or Industrial or Academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations.

Salary

The remuneration for the Scientist ‘B’ post is between Rs. 56100 to Rs. 177000

Scientist ‘C’

Eligibility

a. Scientists or Technologists working in the Central Government or State Governments or Universities or recognized research institutions or Semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous organizations in India or abroad:

(i) holding analogous post on regular basis; or

(ii) with five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the pay band -3, Rs. l 5600-39100 with grade pay of Rs. 5400 (Level IO as per VIIth CPC) or equivalent; and

b. Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

Essential: (i) Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

(ii) Four years of experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology organizations and scientific activities and services

Desirable: Doctorate Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Salary

The remuneration for the Scientist ‘C’ post is between Rs. 67700 to Rs. 208700

1. Filling up of online application form

• Eligible candidates are required to apply Online only, through the online portal https://recruitment.dst.gov.in/ using a valid email ID. This online portal for applying shall be available for a period of 30 days from the date of advertisement in Employment News /Rozgar Samachar.
• The candidate will be required to fill out the online application form and upload the relevant certificates/ documents. Instruction to fill up the application form is available on https://recruitment.dst.gov.in/

2. Submission of hard copy of the application by registered or speed post:

• The candidate must print out a hard copy of the computer-generated application and sign it properly. There is no need to send a printout of the attached documents or certificates together with the hard copy of the application.
• Candidates should apply through the proper channels if they are employed by government agencies, public sector organizations, autonomous organizations, universities, or recognized research institutions. Such applications will only be taken into consideration if they are submitted through the proper channels and include the “Certificate” that has been officially signed by the Competent Authority in the format specified (Annexure-l) within the specified time frame.
• Even if an online application is submitted before the deadline, applications received after that date will not be taken into consideration. Therefore, it is up to such applicants to follow up on their applications in their departments or organizations and make sure that their applications, complete in all respects and officially verified by their competent authority, are received by this Department within the allotted time frame. Additionally, all incomplete applications will be categorically rejected. Applications received beyond the deadline for submission for any reason—including postal or forwarding authority delays, etc.—will not be taken into consideration. In this regard, there shall be no leniency.
