MoEFCC Recruitment 2023 for Scientists: Check Post, Eligibility and How to Apply
MoEFCC Recruitment 2023: Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is inviting applications from Indian citizens for filling up 27 posts of Scientists on a Direct Recruitment basis. The candidates having a valid Ph.D. shall mention the dates of their registration and completion for the said Ph.D., failing which the Ph.D. will not be considered during initial screening. As per the MoEFCC Recruitment 2023 notification, There are no Application Fees for applying to any post.
Applications should be submitted online within 30 days of publication in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar. The applicants are advised to submit their applications as early as possible without waiting for the last date. All the appointees shall be governed by the New Pension Scheme (NPS) introduced by Govt. of India. The applicants serving in Govt./Semi. Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Organizations must obtain a No Objection Certificate from their employer and produce it at the time of document verification. In case the applicant fails to submit the No Objection Certificate from his employer, his candidature will not be considered.

Scientist B
Master’s Degree in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution. OR Doctorate in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution
Desirable Qualification: Experience in the field of air pollution control or allied field
Scientist C
Master’s Degree in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and Three years experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute OR Doctorate in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and One year experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute.
Scientist D
Master’s Degree in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and Seven years experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute OR Doctorate in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and Four years experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute.
Scientist E
Master’s Degree in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and Eleven years experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute OR Doctorate in Science / Engineering from a recognized University or Institution and Eight years’ experience in air pollution control or related subject in an organization of repute
Zoological Survey of India
Scientist E-
Master’s Degree in Zoology from a recognized University/Institute with 11 years of experience in research in an academic institution or scientific organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post. OR Doctorate in Zoology from a recognized University/Institute with 08 years of experience in research in an academic institution or scientific organization after possessing the minimum educational qualification required for the post.
Area of Experience
Essential: Marine Fishes/Reptiles/Birds/Mammals with special reference to Systematic, Morphology and Ecology of animals.
Desirable: Experience in Molecular Systematics, DNA barcoding, and Geospatial Mapping of species.
Scientist C-
Master’s Degree in Zoology from a recognized University/Institute with 03 years of experience in research in an academic institution or scientific and technological organization in the relevant field after possessing the minimum qualifications required for the post with special reference to Systematics, Morphology, and Ecology of animals. OR Doctorate in Zoology from a recognized University/Institute. Desirable Qualification:
(a) Knowledge of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature.
(b) Working knowledge of any of the foreign languages – Latin, German, French & Russian.
(c) Experience in conducting field surveys and guiding research
Area of Experience: Protozoa / Sponges / Annelida / Helminthes / Mollusca / Arthropod / Echinodermata / Fishes / Amphibia / Reptiles / Birds / Mammals.
Botanical Survey of India
Scientist F-
Master’s Degree in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science with 16 years of experience in research /teaching in plant taxonomy OR Doctorate degree in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science with 13 years’ experience in research /teaching in the field of plant taxonomy.
Desirable Qualification: Administrative experience as Head of any Regional Unit/Office
Scientist E-
Master’s Degree in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science with 11 years of experience in the field of the taxonomy of Angiosperms / Gymnosperms / Pteridophytes / Bryophytes /Lichens / Fungi / Algae. OR Doctorate degree in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science with 08 years of experience in Research/ Teaching in the field of plant taxonomy.
Desirable Qualifications:
(i) Respective qualifications and experience in any one of the following fields – Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, Algae, Fungi, Lichens, Bryophytes of Pteridophytes;
(ii) Knowledge of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature and
(iii) Knowledge of one or more of the foreign languages viz. Latin, German, French, and Russian

Scientist B-
Master’s Degree in Zoology from a recognized University. OR Doctorate in Zoology from a recognized University.
Essential Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University. OR Doctorate in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University.
Scientist C-
Master’s Degree in Botany with 03 years of working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control Environmental Impact Assessment or Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Biodiversity or Conservation and Survey. OR Doctorate in Botany.
Essential Qualification and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with 03 years of working experience in the field of Environmental Pollution Control or Environmental Impact Assessment Management of Hazardous Substances or Management of Biodiversity or Conservation and Survey. OR Doctorate in Environmental Engineering.
Directorate of Forest Education
Scientist C-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University with 03 years of experience in the field of Civil Engineering including teaching experience.
Area of experience 03 years of experience in the application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Forest Resources and Ecosystem Analysis
National Museum of Natural History
Scientist C-
Master’s Degree in Botany Zoology or Geology or Biosciences or Life Sciences Environmental Science or Wildlife Biology from a recognized University/Institute; and
Diploma or certificate course in Museology of a duration of not less than one year; OR Two years experience of working in a State or National Museum preferably in the Natural History Sections; and
Botanical Survey of India
Scientist C-
Master’s Degree in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science with 03 years experience OR Doctorate in Natural Science (Botany) or Agricultural Science. The experience may be in the field of the taxonomy of Angiosperms/Gymnosperms/ Pteridophytes/ Bryophytes/ Lichens/ Fungi/ Algae.
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, and of one or more foreign languages viz. Latin, German, French, and Russian
