MRF Gets Major Tax Relief as Kerala Authority Slashes Sales Tax Demand from Rs 91.53 Crore to Rs 36.19 Crore:

MRF’s Kerala sales tax demand has been cut sharply from Rs 91.53 crore to Rs 36.19 crore following a rectification order.

MRF Limited, India's largest tyre manufacturer and also a global exporter has informed the stock exchanges that a tax demand related to its sales tax assessment for the financial year 2014-15 has been reduced significantly.
The company said the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Pala, Kerala, passed a rectification order on September 30, 2026, which MRF received on October 6. Following the order, the total tax demand has been reduced to Rs. 36.19 crore from Rs. 91.53 crore.
The matter relates to export clearances and declaration forms under sales tax and was earlier disclosed by the company in August 2023.
MRF said it is currently examining the latest order and will decide on the appropriate course of action, including whether to challenge the remaining demand.
