Narcotic substances worth Rs. 396.5 crore destroyed by Customs The Delhi Customs Preventive Zone destroyed 147 kg of illegal narcotics worth Rs. 396.5 crore at a waste management facility approved by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), marking a significant advancement in the war on narcotics, drugs, and psychotropic substances (NDPS). The facility burned down 60.3628 kg of illegal drugs, including 10,894 NDPS-TIDIGESIC capsules weighing 87 kg and 60.3628 kg of heroin, 2.150 kg of MDMA hydrochloride, 0.2193 kg of marijuana, and 1.6475 kg of ganja. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, New Delhi, had confiscated the contraband lots that were destroyed, and a High Level Drug Disposal Committee oversaw the entire destruction process. The illegal substance was burned in accordance with the 2016 Hazardous & Other Wastes (M&TM) Rules.
