NEET PG 2024: Successfully Organised Across 170 Cities, More Than 2 Lakh Candidates Appeared

NEET PG 2024: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), an autonomous body of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, has successfully administered the NEET PG 2024 exam today. The NEET PG 2024 was held across 170 cities, in a total of 416 centres in two shifts. In the exam including both shifts, a total of 2,16,136 candidates appeared.

In shift one, 1,07,959 candidates appeared for the examination out of 1,14,276 candidates who registered. That means 6,317 candidates did not appear for the examination. As per the reports exams in two centres were delayed due to some technical reasons in shift 1. Delay time was around one hour and 45 minutes. There were also three centres where the exam was delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Now if talk about shift two, 1,14,264 candidates registered for the NEET PG 2024 exam, among which 1,08,177 candidates appeared and 6,087 candidates remained absent in the examination. In shift two, due to technical issues, the exam at one exam centre was delayed by a maximum of 55 minutes while four exam centres were delayed by below 30 minutes.

NBEMS stated in an official notification, “To ensure safe and smooth conduct of NEET PG, NBEMS had set up a central command centre at its Dwarka Office. MoHFW, NBEMS along with their teams kept a close watch on the conduct of the examination.”

In order to monitor the conduct of NEET PG, eight regional command centres were established, along with more than 1,950 independent appraisers and 300 members of the flying squad assigned to the examination centres.

NBEMS ensured sure that only genuine information was provided to the stakeholders and kept an eye on social media to prevent any inaccurate information about the examination.

Increased security and strong agency coordination have made it possible for the NEET PG to be conducted safely and smoothly, protecting the exam’s integrity.
