According to reports, all 10 of the suspects are from Delhi and Haryana. A police operation is underway to find them. Previously, on August 12, a merchant was detained by the Central GST in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district for allegedly claiming and using ITC worth Rs.10.14 crore by generating false invoices, an official told. According to the official, Sanjay Shende was detained in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CGST Act. The CBIC chairman further stated that during the ongoing anti-fake registration campaign, GST officials have discovered around 12,500 fraudulent organisations that were utilised to claim fake ITC and scam the exchequer. He further stated that bogus organisations were prevalent in Delhi, Haryana, and Rajasthan, and that certain sections of Gujarat, Noida, Kolkata, Assam, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra also had false enterprises with GST registration. In addition, Johri stated that in the current crackdown on bogus corporations, GST officers discovered 304 syndicates involving 9,000 fake GSTINs and ITC claims totaling Rs.25,000 crore.
