Northern Railway Recruitment 2023: The Northern Railway Central Hospital in New Delhi is seeking eligible candidates to apply for the post of Senior Resident under the Senior Residency Scheme. As per Northern Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, there is a total of 30 vacancies available. Interested candidates must apply on an A4 size paper in the prescribed format and enclose all necessary documents. The date and time of the walk-in interview are specified for each specialty, and no requests for a change in dates will be entertained. Candidates should report to the auditorium, first floor, academic block, Northern Railway Central Hospital, New Delhi, on the 18th and 19th of April 2023 for the walk-in interview at 8.30 am with the completed application form, along with self-attested copies of all required documents. All documents must be produced in original for verification. Selection will be based on a walk-in interview, and only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the interview after document verification. As per Northern Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the Senior Resident (SR) position can be divided into three categories. The first and foremost category is the educational qualification. The candidate should possess a post-graduate degree or diploma recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or National Board of Examinations (NBE) in the concerned specialty. For SR-Oncology, candidates should have an MD/DNB (General Medicine) or MS/DNB (General Surgery) with one year of experience in Oncology/Onco-surgery.
The candidate should have completed the tenure of PG Degree/Diploma before the date of the interview. In the event that candidates with PG qualification are not available in a particular specialty, candidates without PG qualification but having at least three years of experience after MBBS, out of which one year of Junior Residency from a Government Hospital or MCI recognized/NBE accredited private hospital in the concerned specialty can be considered for a period of one year only.
The second category is registration. Candidates must have a valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI)/Delhi Medical Council (DMC)/State Medical Council. Candidates who do not have registration with Delhi Medical Council (DMC), will have to apply to Delhi Medical Council for registration before joining. Proof of registration must be submitted at the time of joining.
The third and final category is the age limit. The age limit for the SR position is determined by the date of notification, which is 05.04.2023. The regular age criteria for General/UR is 37 years, for OBC is 40 years, and for SC/ST is 42 years. Age relaxation is provided in case of the non-availability of candidates with age limits. For General/UR, age relaxation is up to 40 years, for OBC is up to 43 years, and for SC/ST is up to 45 years.
As per Northern Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the initial appointment for Senior Resident positions is for one year only, which is extendable to a total maximum period of three years in the form of subsequent two annual extensions, subject to satisfactory work, conduct, and performance. Termination or resignation of engagement can be done on one-month prior notice or payment of one month’s salary from either side.
As per Northern Railway Recruitment 2023 official notification, the pay scale for Senior Resident positions is Matrix Level-11 (Rs. 67700-208700) revised pay as per 7th CPC at the entry-level. Allowances as admissible will be paid.

The selection process for the Senior Resident position will be on a Walk-in-Interview basis. After verifying the documents, only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the interview. All documents must be produced in original at the time of the interview along with self-attested copies.
