For Post Code MDL12023, candidates must have a Trade Certificate in Mechanic Diesel Trade from a Government Recognized Institute and must have passed Class 10 from a Government Recognized Board.
For Post Code FTR12023, candidates must have a Trade Certificate in Fitter Trade from a Government Recognized Institute and must have passed Class 10 from a Government Recognized Board.
For Post Code BLR12023, candidates must have (i) a Trade Certificate in the relevant course of 2 years duration from a Government Recognized Institute and must have passed Class 10 from a Government Recognized Board, and (ii) a valid and current 2nd Class Boiler Attendant Certificate issued by a Competent Authority.

As per the recruitment notification, the minimum age limit for all categories of candidates is 18 years. However, there is age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen as per the directives of the Government of India. The valid proof of date of birth will be the Date of Birth (DOB) mentioned on the Admit Card or Pass Certificate or Marksheet of Class 10 issued by the concerned Government Recognized Education Board. No other document will be accepted for verification of the date of birth.

As per OIL India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the advertised position will commence with the screening of applications to determine candidates who meet the eligibility criteria as specified on the crucial date. Those who meet the criteria will be called to undertake a Computer Based Test (CBT). The qualifying marks for the CBT will be 40% for SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (wherever reservation is applicable) and 50% for others. The CBT will comprise of three sections, namely, (A) English Language & General Knowledge/Awareness with some questions on Oil India Limited, (B) Reasoning, Arithmetic/Numerical & Mental Ability, and (C) Relevant Technical Knowledge based on the trade. The CBT will be a multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format and will assess candidates on the parameters and distribution of marks as detailed above.
There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in the CBT, and the CBT will be bilingual in English & Assamese, with a total duration of two hours. Compensatory time will be allowed for eligible candidates with benchmark disabilities. In the event of the marks being the same for multiple candidates, the candidate with the highest marks in Part-C of the CBT will be given preference. If the marks in Part-C are also the same, the candidate with the highest marks in Part-B will be given preference, and if the marks in Part-B are also the same, then the candidate who is older in age will be given preference. The final selection will be made based on the merit list derived from the marks obtained in the CBT only.
