The Income Tax Department had earlier shared a guide on fixing the browser issues for the taxpayers filing ITR. The department, in a post shared on platform X, said that, "Having difficulty accessing the Income Tax e-Filing Portal? Sometimes, access difficulties with the Income Tax e-Filing Portal may arise due to local system/browser settings. These simple steps often help resolve such issues." However, these steps did not help taxpayers, as the portal still glitches. Many Chartered Accountants and other professional bodies have shared their experience on social media platforms, highlighting the Income Tax Portal's technical errors while making payments and downloading the Annual Information Statement (AIS). Even on Monday, many taxpayers were not able to log in to the e-filing portal. Responding to complaints about problems with uploading ITR and making tax payments, the Income Tax Department clarified earlier in the day that the e-filing portal is working properly. They advised users to clear their browser cache or try using a different browser if they are facing issues.
