Over Rs 1.15 lakh crore in income tax refunds have been issued to over 98 lakh taxpayers so far this fiscal year, according to the I-T department on Wednesday. These also include Rs 12,616.79 crore in reimbursements to 65.31 lakh taxpayers for the fiscal year 2020-21. (Assessment Year 2021-22).
"From 1st April, 2021 to 8th November, 2021, the CBDT returns over Rs 1,15,917 crore to over 98.90 lakh taxpayers," the I-T department tweeted.
This includes Rs 36,000 crore in personal income tax refunds to over 97.12 lakh taxpayers and Rs 79,917 crore in corporate tax refunds to over 1.77 lakh instances.
