PFRDA to Set Exit Process From Atal Pension Yojana (APY) [Read Notification]
The Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance recently shared a notification dated August 18, 2025 on Atal Pension Yojana.
Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a government-backed pension scheme designed to give social security and a guaranteed monthly pension to Indian citizens, mainly targeting workers in the unorganised sector. It was launched by the Indian government on May 9, 2015 and became operational from June 1, 2015.
Atal Pension Yojana published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part I, Section 1, the following changes will be made:
In the said notification, below para 13 the following paragraph 14 will be placed:
Exit modalities: The detailed modalities of the exit process will be specified by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) in consultation with the government.
