On one hand, Hindu families are getting ready for their festival rituals, shopping, and other things. It is also important to keep a note of the bank holidays that fall in this month. During festivals, people generally visit banks for money withdrawal, lockers, and other banking services, as the need for money also increases during festivals. If you are also planning to visit your banks this festival season, here's a list of state-wise bank holidays that shows on which day banks will be closed and in which state, so that you are able to set your date of visiting the bank accordingly.
October 1, 2025
- On October 1st, banks will be closed in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Odisha, Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Kerala, Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Ayudha Pooja (Maha Navami/Vijayadashami) and Durga Puja (Dasain).
- On October 2nd, 2025, all banks will remain closed nationwide, including all Indian states and union territories, for the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi and Dussehra. October 2nd has been set as a national holiday in the entire country.
- Banks in Sikkim will remain closed for the occasion of Durga Pooja (Dasain).
- Banks in Tripura and West Bengal will remain closed on October 6, 2025, for the festival of Lakshmi Pooja.
- On October 7, 2025, banks in the states of Karnataka, Odisha, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed due to the festivals of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.
- Banks in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on October 10, 2025, on the occasion of Karwa Chauth.
- A famous festival of Assam called Kati Bihu is this year falling on October 18, 2025; hence, all banks in the state of Assam will remain closed.
- On October 20, 2025, banks will remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh (UT), Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi (NCT), Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh for the festivals of Diwali, Naraka Chaturdashi, and Kali Puja.
- On the occasion of Diwali, Vikram Samvat New Year Day, Govardhan Pooja, Balipadyami, and Laxmi Puja (Diwali), banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar on October 22, 2025.
- On October 23, 2025, banks in the states of Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on the occasion of Bhaidooj, Chitragupt Jayanti, Laxmi Puja Bhratridwitiya, and Ningol Chakkouba.
- All banks in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand will remain closed on October 27, 2025, for the celebration of the Chath Puja (Evening Puja) festival.
- Banks in Bihar and Jharkhand will remain closed on October 28, 2025, for the festival of Chath Puja (Morning Puja).
- All banks in Gujarat will remain closed for the festival to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday on October 31, 2025.
