RBI and ECB Renew Partnership to boost Central Banking Cooperation
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently issued a press release on May 10, 2026, regarding a Memorandum of Understanding on Mutual Cooperation.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that its Governor, Sanjay Malhotra, and the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing happened during a meeting of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
The MoU replaced the old MoU of 2015. It provides a framework for a regular exchange of information, policy dialogue and technical cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest in the field of central banking.
