RBI Recruitment 2023: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is inviting applications for the post of Driver in the Class IV cadre for its Mumbai Office. There are 5 Vacancies available, and selection for the post will be done through an online test followed by a skill/driving test. The eligibility criteria for the post include an age between 18 and 25 years, a 10th standard pass, and a valid driving license for light and heavy vehicles with a minimum of five years of experience. As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, interested candidates should apply only through the Bank’s website, and the last date for application submission is April 16, 2023.

As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the recruitment process will include an online test that may be conducted on a weekday or weekend in the month of April or May 2023. The Bank reserves the right to modify the date and month of the test depending on the number of applicants and other relevant factors. Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories will be provided reservation as per prevailing government guidelines at the time of finalization of the result, and reservation for ex-servicemen is horizontal and within the overall vacancies for the post.

As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the post include:

Age: The candidate should be between 28 and 35 years of age as of 01/03/2023. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, widows/divorced women/women judicially separated who are not remarried, and candidates having work experience in RBI.

Caste: Candidates seeking reservation as SC/ST must produce a certificate in the prescribed format only, indicating their caste, the Act/Order under which their caste is recognized as SC/ST, and the Village/Town they are ordinarily a resident of. Candidates belonging to the OBC category but coming in the ‘Creamy Layer’ are not entitled to OBC reservations.

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have passed the 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from a recognized board. The candidate should be domiciled within the Recruitment Zone of the Mumbai Office of RBI, viz. State of Maharashtra (excluding Vidarbha region), Goa, and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The candidate should be an undergraduate on 01/03/2023.

Experience: The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a driver and a good driving record. The candidate should possess a valid driving license for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV).

Job Requirements: The job requires the driving of the Bank’s fleet of automobiles i.e., motor cars. The candidate should be able to attend to minor repairs and should be able to converse freely in English and Hindi besides the local language i.e., Marathi.

Selection Process for RBI Recruitment 2023:

As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the post of Driver involves two stages: an Online Test and a Skill/Driving Test. The Online Test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions covering topics such as knowledge of traffic signs/rules, driving skills, motor mechanisms, minor repairs, and reasoning. Additionally, there will be a Comprehensive Passage in English and Marathi languages. The Online Test will be available in both English and Hindi, and there will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates who are shortlisted based on their performance in the Online Test will be invited to appear for the Skill/Driving Test.

The Skill/Driving Test will be conducted using the Bank’s car, and candidates will have to bear their own traveling expenses. Only those candidates who stand sufficiently high in merit based on the aggregate marks of the Online Test will be called for the Skill/Driving Test. Skill Test is mandatory, and no exemption of any sort will be given to any candidate. Final selection will be based on the marks scored in both the Online Test and Skill/Driving Test, subject to notified vacancies, reservation requirements, document verification, identity verification, and any other mandatory procedures decided by the Bank. The Bank’s decision regarding the selection process will be final, and candidates are advised to keep their e-mail and mobile numbers active for receiving updates and correspondence from the Bank.

Salary for RBI Recruitment 2023:

As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the pay scale and allowances for Drivers in this recruitment will start at basic pay of ₹17270/- per month with various other allowances including Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and others as admissible from time to time. The initial monthly gross emoluments for Drivers is approximate ₹35,962/-. However, if the employee is not staying in Bank’s accommodation, an additional 15% of the payment will be paid to the employee as House Rent Allowance.

In addition to the pay scale and allowances, the recruits will be eligible for perquisites as per their eligibility. The pension benefits will be governed by the Defined Contribution New Pension Scheme, along with the benefit of Gratuity.

How to Apply for RBI Recruitment 2023:

As per RBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, to apply for the RBI Driver post, candidates must submit their applications online through the official website www.rbi.org.in between March 27, 2023, and April 16, 2023. No other mode of application will be accepted. Candidates must read the detailed instructions for filling up the online application form in Appendix-I, available on the Bank’s website. Candidates should submit only a single application. However, if due to unavoidable circumstances, a candidate submits multiple applications, they must ensure that the application with the higher Registration ID (RID) is complete in all respects like applicant details, examination center, photograph and signature, fee payment, etc. The fee paid against one RID cannot be adjusted against any other RID.

Candidates are required to pay non-refundable application fees/intimation charges through online payment between March 27, 2023, and April 16, 2023. The application fee is Rs. 50/- plus 18% GST for SC/ST/EXS candidates, and Rs. 450/- plus 18% GST for OBC/EWS/General candidates (Test fee + Intimation Charges). Staff candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee and intimation charges. However, bank transaction charges for online payment of examination fees/intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate. Only employees of RBI (Staff Candidates) who satisfy the eligibility criteria stipulated by the Bank in its circular CO.HRMD.No.G-75/5599/05.01.01/2013-2014 dated December 20, 2013, are eligible for test fee/intimation charges waiver. Their status as staff candidates will be verified during the Skill Test/Document verification. If they are not eligible to be treated as staff candidates, they are advised to indicate themselves as non-staff candidates and pay fees/intimation charges as applicable to non-staff candidates.
