Haryana has found Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion cases of Rs. 13,794 crore in the current financial year up to October.

GST evasion in Punjab was Rs. 481 crore, Rs 169 crore in Himachal Pradesh, and Rs. 145 crore in UT Chandigarh.

Union Minister of Finance Sushil Kumar Modi informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that GST evasion cases of Rs. 1.51 lakh crore have been found across the nation during the financial year until October.

At the same time, the authorities recovered Rs. 2,908 crore in GST from the accused in Haryana until October, Rs. 145 crore in Punjab, Rs 52 crore in Himachal, and Rs. 89 crore in UT Chandigarh.

During the current financial year, 18 people have been detained in Haryana for GST evasion charges, three in Punjab, and none in Himachal Pradesh or UT Chandigarh.

The minister further informed the Rajya Sabha that 71 show cause notices including GST of Rs. 1.12 lakh crore were issued to online gaming enterprises for the financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24 till October.
