SAIL Recruitment 2023: Centre for Engineering & Technology (CET) is a design, engineering, and consultancy unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a leading steel-making company in India. As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, CET has invited applications for various posts for its headquarters at Ranchi and sub-centers. As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the positions include Manager (Coal, Coke & Chemical), Manager (Civil & Structural), Manager (Process, Control & Automation), Manager (Electrical), Manager (Mechanical/ U&S), and Manager (Technology – Iron & Sinter/ Steel/ Rolling Mills), for which eligible candidates can apply. The total number of vacancies is ten, out of which one vacancy is reserved for SC, three for ST, one for OBC, and five for UR candidates. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are also eligible to apply for the aforementioned posts.
As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the posts include a maximum age of 35 years as of the closing date of receipt of the application, i.e., April 24, 2023. Candidates must have a full-time B.E./B.Tech. degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university or institution, along with post-qualification experience of at least seven years in an executive cadre (after B.E./B.Tech.) in consultancy/ design & engineering/projects & construction/operation & maintenance in the relevant area. As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the minimum qualifying marks in the qualifications mentioned are 50% (in aggregate) for SCs/STs/PWD candidates (for Reserved posts) and 60% (in aggregate) for GENERAL/OBC/EWS candidates and UR posts. The selection process includes a written test followed by an interview with the shortlisted candidates.

For the post of Manager (Coal, Coke & Chemical), the candidate should be 35 years or below as on the closing date of receipt of the application, i.e., 24/04/2023. The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech. (Full time) degree in Chemical Engineering discipline from a Govt. recognized University/Institute. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in any Public Sector Undertaking/Government Organisation/Public Limited Company. The post-qualification experience of at least 07 (seven) years in executive cadre (after B.E./B.Tech.) in consultancy/design & engineering/projects & construction/operation & maintenance in Steel Plant (Blast Furnace – Basic Oxygen Furnace Route)/Coke Plant/Coal Chemical Plant for the following area: By-product recovery type Coke Ovens/Coal Chemical Plant. The minimum qualifying marks for the degree in engineering are 50% (in aggregate) for SCs/STs/PWD candidates (for Reserved posts) and 60% (in aggregate) for GENERAL/OBC/EWS candidates and for UR posts.
For the post of Manager (Civil & Structural), the candidate should be 35 years or below as of the closing date of receipt of the application, i.e., 24/04/2023. The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech. (Full time) degree in Civil Engineering discipline from a Govt. recognized University/Institution. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in any Public Sector Undertaking/Government Organisation/Public Limited Company. The post-qualification experience of at least 07 (seven) years in executive cadre (after B.E./B.Tech.) in consultancy/design & engineering/projects & construction in any of the following areas in the multidisciplinary project: Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC)/Steel Structural Design, Highway and Permanent Way Design, Water Supply and Sewage Treatment Plant.
For the post of Manager (Process, Control & Automation), the candidate should be 35 years or below as on the closing date of receipt of the application, i.e., 24/04/2023. The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech. (Full time) degree in Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Instrumentation & Control/Electrical & Electronics Engineering discipline from a Govt. recognized University/Institution. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in any Public Sector Undertaking/Government Organisation/Public Limited Company. The post-qualification experience of at least 07 (seven) years in executive cadre (after B.E./B.Tech.) in consultancy/design & engineering/projects & construction/operation & maintenance in Steel Plant (Blast Furnace-Basic Oxygen Furnace Route)/Power Plant/Manufacturing Plant/Process Plant for the following area: Instrumentation Process Control & Automation.
For the post of Manager (Electrical), the candidate should be 35 years or below as on the closing date of receipt of the application, i.e., 24/04/2023. The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech. (Full time) degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering discipline from a Govt. recognized University/Institution. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in any Public Sector Undertaking/Government Organisation/Public Limited Company. The post-qualification experience of at least 07 (seven) years in executive cadre (after B.E./B.Tech.) in consultancy/design & engineering/projects & construction/operation & maintenance in Steel Plant (Blast Furnace-Basic Oxygen Furnace Route)/Power Plant/Mining/Process Plant/Manufacturing Plant/Infrastructure for the following area: EHV/HV/LV Power Distribution/MCC/IMCC/PLC/Drives.
As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected candidates for the above posts will be considered for regular employment in E-3 grade and will be entitled to receive a Scale of Pay of Rs.80,000–3%–2,20,000/-. Besides the Basic Pay and Industrial DA, they will also receive various perquisites under the cafeteria approach, contributory provident fund, gratuity as per the Gratuity Act, and free medical treatment for themselves and their family, as per the rules of the company. However, if company accommodation is not available, they will receive House Rent Allowance.
As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 official notification, the mode of selection for the above posts involves a written test (computer-based test) or an interview, or both. The eligible candidates will be informed about the selection process through Admit Card/Call Letter, Email/SMS, and the SAIL website. If the selection process includes a written test, the call letter will be available for downloading from the SAIL website.
For the written test, there will be 100 multiple-choice questions in two segments: 70 on technical knowledge and 30 on general awareness. The minimum qualifying marks for the written test will be a 50 percentile score for unreserved posts and a 40 percentile score for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD against the reserved posts. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit, at a ratio of 1:3. The final selection will be made based on the merit list drawn by combining the marks of the written test and interview with the weightage of 80:20 respectively.
If the selection process is through interview only, the minimum qualifying marks will be 50% for unreserved posts and 40% for posts reserved for SC/ST/OBC (NCL).
PWD/ESM candidates will have to qualify in their respective caste/category. The qualification must be from universities or institutes recognized/accredited by councils/bodies like UGC/AICTE set up by Central/State Govt
