Sapphire Foods India has received a show-cause notice of INR 1.40 million from the Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, Vadodara, Gujarat, under Section 73 of the Gujarat GST Act, 2017.

The notice, dated September 26, 2026, relates to the period from April 2022 to March 2023. According to the company, the GST authorities issued the notice after reviewing its GST returns and alleged incorrect availment and utilisation of input tax credit (ITC).

Sapphire Foods said it does not agree with the claim, calling it not maintainable. The company is currently evaluating the notice and will take the necessary steps to respond to the tax authorities.

The company also said that the notice is not expected to have any material impact on its financial position, operations or other activities.
