SBI Revises Cash Withdrawal Charges on Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts; Effective from October 1:

SBI to revise its cash withdrawal charges on Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts opened through the branch channel, effective from October 1, 2026.
All Digital Transactions to Remain Free

The State Bank of India (SBI) has recently released a Public Notice, announcing a revision in its cash withdrawal charges on Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts opened through the branch channel.
The revised charges are scheduled to take effect from October 01, 2026, the largest lender said in a public notice on Thursday. According to the post shared on platform 'X' by the state-owned bank, no revision has been made to the four free cash withdrawals limit granted to a customer every month; however, as per the latest changes, cash withdrawals made beyond this limit will be charged Rs 15 plus applicable GST per transaction.
It has been further clarified that all the transactions done digitally will remain free without any restriction. Further, a revision has been introduced to the treatment of Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions.
Previously, the AePS transactions under digital transactions were not included while calculating the four free monthly transactions. However, these transactions will no longer be excluded from the calculation under the revised rules.
