SC admits SLP filed by Revenue against the Allahabad HC order quashing S 148 Notice issued after 01.04.2021. The date for the next hearing, in this case, has been set for March 15, 2022.

Several High Courts have recently granted judgments in favor of assessees in cases where notices were issued under Section 148 of the Income Tax Act after 01.04.2021 under the old section, i.e. prior to the change by Finance Act, 2021.

All of the judgments in favor of the assessee were made after studying and relying on the remarks and judgment of the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court, and now Revenue has filed an SLP against the judgment of the Allahabad High Court, for which the Hon’ble Supreme Court has given notice.
